X-ray Innovation, Nongshim Engineering’s Unveiling of X-Ray Foreign Substances Inspection System
Foreign substances inspection systems and the next-generation X-Ray foreign substances inspection system with a state-of-the-art algorithm that will provide new milestones for X-rays that cannot be inspected by human eyes will be unveiled to the public.
Yoo Young-ho, CEO of Nongshim Engineering, announced that Nongshim Engineering will participate in the 19th International Packing Materials Exhibition (Booth No. 2F301) which will be held at KINTEX in Ilsan from June 10th to 13th to introduce the next-generation X-Ray foreign substances inspection system “XIS-5000D”<Picture Below>, which is made with various X-Ray state-of-the-the-art algorithms.
Upgraded XIS-5000D can inspect even fine foreign substances of various materials.
The 5000D is the latest model that improves inspection performance as well as stability and lifespan through improvements in hardware and software of existing models, resulting from years of research and development. By demonstrating the equipment in front of the visitors at this exhibition, they will be able to see its excellent performance and convenience of the 5000D.
Yoo Young-ho, CEO of Nongshim Engineering, said that “We will supply X-Ray foreign substances inspection systems of various models not only to meet the government’s food safety management standards but also to protect the safety of consumers’ food.”
Nongshim Engineering, an engineering company specializing in the food and pharmaceutical field, started from its subsidiary company Nongshim’s facility development office in 1997 and has carried out various projects in domestic and overseas including plant construction, consulting, automation, logistics systems, and food safety.
Nongshim Engineering’s X-Ray foreign substances inspection systems brand, Intellisense, has been applied to high-speed production lines over 1,200 cpm of Lotte Chilsung Beverage and Coca-Cola Beverage. .
It also has been exported to large domestic food companies such as Nongshim, Sunjin Group, Lotte Group, and Daesang, as well as some of the world’s leading global companies, including the United States, China, Japan, and Europe.
Since the existing food foreign substances inspection system only stores and manages images for products with mixed foreign substances, it was not possible to check for defects in normal products.
However, Nongshim Engineering’s X-Ray inspection system not only manages defective products during production but also stores and manages the entire inspection video for normal products that are not mixed with foreign substances, enabling scientific and systematic responses to black consumers in case of complaint.
X-Ray inspection equipment had to be operated and managed directly at the site. However, with the upgraded software, it is possible to manage directly from the office desk through remote control, which is highly favorable to managers.
Nongshim Engineering’s inspection systems division not only improves inspection of X-ray foreign substances through continuous technology development and special inspection algorithm development but also provides specialized management programs for users, such as user-centered convenience of operation and history management necessary for quality management.
According to an announcement by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety last July,Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) is expected to be subject to the mandatory application of food safety management certification by 50 percent of all processed foods by 2020. For this reason, food foreign substances management and defective food management are expected to be key issues in the food and pharmaceutical field.
As a result, demand for Nongshim Engineering’s state-of-the-art X-ray inspection system, which can inspect regardless of packaging materials such as cans, glass bottles, and plastic bottles, and detect stones, glass, and bones as well as metals, is expected to rise consistently.
